Wessex Pricing Program has been (and still is) continuously used and developed to its present form over a period of eighteen years. The overriding principles are speed and simplicity of use. (The less buttons to press means that there is less chance of pressing a wrong one!) So it covers combinations of frame, mount and glass, which is the majority of the work that framers are asked to price up. Everyone in the shop should be able to use the program and give the customer a price.
Of course there are many jobs which require additional costing. I have been in framing long enough to know that one could never write a program which would cover everything. So I have included a box where one can put in an additional cost, to which VAT is then added.

Wessex Pricing Program free update
This update addresses the main issue that has arisen during the year — that the original program will only accept mouldings with a wholesale cost of upto around £10/metre. (To be fair, at the time I wrote the program this seemed an impossibly high cost!) Now, the program will accept the original moulding price codes (letter & 2 numbers) AND higher price codes (letter & 3 numbers). Remember the letter represents the width, the numbers the price. The code calculator has also been modified to suit.
A number of other “tweaks” have also been included
The rebate size interface has been redesigned and will now accept mm. as well as cm. & Inches.
If you are not registered for VAT (ie. a zero in Initial Prices) then the VAT label & box does not appear (the program will need to be restarted for this to take effect).
There is also a “Quantity” box — click on “Options” — “Quantity” to find out how much moulding a frame will need.
The download is only 132kb. and so will not take long. Click on the button opposite and save the file to wherever you save your downloads (eg “My Documents”).
Installation
Make a copy of your “Initial Price” values (the update does not affect them — but just in case!)
Highlight the downloaded file (“Wessex Price.exe”), “Copy” it to “C:\”-“Program Files” — “RightPrice(WP)”.
A message will appear saying that the file already exists, do you want to replace it? Click “Yes”.
